I have seen many necklaces over the years, labeled as prayer bead necklaces. Most of them, you could hardly see even a spiritual element in them. Beth, your Franciscan Crown necklace truly is. :) ~~ R.E.

This was posted on Mystic Rosary, a Yahoo group that focuses on rosaries and prayer beads. I have wanted to explore Reiki, so I was intrigued by the prayers. "Reiki Rosary (Use a traditional five decade Catholic rosary)Written by Anthony C.Quotes fr…

Speaking of Stringing Materials.... 3 Replies

What do you use to string your prayer beads? When I was first called to make prayer beads, I explained to the lady at my favourite bead shop what I wanted to do and she recommended C-Lon Bead Cord.…

A Small Gift and My Thanks

When I started Sacred Strands, I told myself that if I could gather at least 25 prayer bead and rosary lovers together, I will have accomplished something. And the group has grown. So, to those of you in that group of 25, my special thanks. You truly are founding members. I lef… Continue

Sacred Strands Update

Now that the holidays have passed by, I plan to get back to a bit more business here on the group.

First of all, I deleted the "Sample Group." I just had it up there to aid anyone in starting a group. Now that we have a few going, I decided to take it down. My apologies to those who were thinking there would be discussions there.

Also this month, I will get back to making a few new invites to the group a week. Please feel free to invite friends or share our URL with anyone you think might be i… Continue

Inspirational Poem for the New Year

The Most Important Day

This is the most important day in your life.
Because this is the day that you are now living.
If your life is headed in an undesirable direction,
This is the day you can change it.
If there are dreams you are longing to fulfill,
This is the day you can follow them.

This day, right now,
Is the day when you can put to use all the knowledge,
Experience and wisdom you've accumulated.
On this very day,
You can do the things you've been meaning to do
And connect with the peopl… Continue

December

No gardener need go far to find
The Christmas rose,
The fairest of the flowers that mark
The sweet Year's close:
Nor be in quest of places where
The hollies grow,
Nor seek for sacred trees that hold
The mistletoe.
All kindly tended gardens love
December days,
And spread their latest riches out
In winter's praise.
But every gardener’s work this month
Must surely be
To choose a very beautiful
Big Christmas tree,
And see it through the open door
In triumph ride,
To reign a glorious reign within
At… Continue

A Holiday Chuckle

Keeping a Nutritional Holiday

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy i… Continue
